Juan U. Arroyo

Juan U. Arroyo, age 86 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at home.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ivette Arroyo (nee De Jesus); father of 7 children: Gladys (Mark) Vanderburg, late Juan U. Arroyo, Jr., Dino Arroyo, Ruben Arroyo, Hector Arroyo, late Luis A. Arroyo and Yvette M. (Timothy) Durkin; 11 grandchildren: Michael, Ruben, Jr., Morgan, James, Alexis, Brianna, Steven, Jacob, Hannah, Antonio and Enrique; 6 great grandchildren; sisters: late Olympia Arroyo, Alicia Arroyo and Aurea Arroyo; brother, late Felix Arroyo and late Claudio Martinez; numerous nieces and nephews.

**Due to COVID-19** A PRIVATE Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Nestor Varon officiating.  Private burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. Private Family Visitation (10 people or less) will be Saturday morning at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, N.

Juan retired from L.T.V. Steel Company in 1995 after 37 years of service.  He was active member of St. Mary Parish and did his very best to live a devout life.  Juan enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, playing cards with his grandchildren, cooking big meals with his wife and he was a Chicago Cubs fan.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary Church would be appreciated.
