Judy was born in Green Pond, Alabama and raised in Hammond (Hessville) Indiana. She was a graduate of Morton High School in Hammond, class of 1971; married February 12, 1972 to the love of her live, Doyle Goins. She worked many years at Charley Horse in Munster, Denny’s Shell service station in Hammond, Welsh Oil in Merrillville, Speedway service center, Luke Oil and County Line Orchard, then retired from Direct Buy in Merrillville. Judy was a devoted member of Silver Sneakers of Duneland YMCA, where she enjoyed chauffeuring to outings and luncheons once a month; as well as making a “family of friends” that enjoyed crafting, working-out, games, and social fellowship. She was a member of Central Church of God in Portage; where she served as a children’s ministry helper, hospitality and media assistant. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren; making many special memories of summer fun in the pool, slumber parties and just hanging out. Mom loved family and travelling; she always filled a room with great conversation and made you feel like you knew her forever; never did she meet a stranger. Judy truly would light up a room with her presence and personality. Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to Central Church of God, Kitchen Building Fund.
