Julio C. Cuellar,age 78 of East Chicago, IN passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at home. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, (Esperanza) S. Cuellar, parents: Julio (Juana de León) Cuellar, and siblings: Lorenzo, Fela, Angelica, Leopoldina, Piedad, Gloria, María de Jesús, Rosario, and María de Carmen Cuellar de León, Julio C. Cuellar, age 78 of East Chicago, IN passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 peacefully at home. He is survived by 3 sisters: Herminia, Elva, and Dora Cuellar de León; 2 nieces: Carmen (James), Claudia I. Moreno Cuellar, and nephew: Luis Moreno Cuellar, and Roberto (Marisol) Alonso; 7 Great nieces and nephews: Roberto Jr., Israel, Lizette, Gabriel, Jordat, Briana, Alicia, and Natalie; 3 children: Laura (Carlos) Arceo, Larry Flores, Sonya Delgado, Bryan (Melissa) Hoitsma; 10 Grandchildren: Carla (Jose Luis) Campos, Marcos, Laura E., and Carlos A. Arceo, Elizabeth and Gregory Delgado, Bryce, Benson, Brady, and Grace Hoitsma; 4 Great grandchildren: Lilliana, Tristian, and Ariel Campos, and Mars Arceo. And many more loving nieces, nephews, and family members. 

Julio C. Cuellar was an amazing, incredible, and loving father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and foster father to the many children who he cared for. His memories and life will live on and be cherished in those who are here to always remember him. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Deacon Javier Patino officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am on Friday morning.
