Sara was proud life long resident of East Chicago and a E.C. Roosevelt High School graduate. She was a longtime crane operator for Inland Steel Company, she had a entrepreneur heart and graduated from Indiana University with a Business Management Certificate (something she was very proud of). Sara always encouraged people to get out there and enjoy life. She was young at heart and loved to travel (especially to her favorite place, Niagra Falls) and took everyone’s kids with her on her journeys throughout the USA. If you were hungry, she fed you, needed a place to stay, she opened her door, needed a word of wisdom… she had it. Sara was very proud of her Polish heritage and was full of old world traditions. She enjoyed entertaining in her home, cooking, putting on a show, and fiercely loved God. Her favorite saying was “Do what you can, WHILE you can, because you never know what happens next.” Those are great words to live by.
We are reminded by Karen’s devotion to God:: There are no tears in Heaven. Nor grief of any kind; I leave this final tear drop to those I left behind. Though absent from the body, I’m present with the Lord; the joy of my salvation is now my full reward
