Kenneth “Jae June” Olive, 35, of East Chicago, IN, departed this life on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana.

Kenneth was born on July 22, 1987, in Gary, Indiana to Kenneth Olive, Sr. and Valerie Hunter. He was the oldest of three sons.

“Jae” attended George Rogers Clark High School. He proudly joined the United States Army and fought in Iraq. He is an honorable Veteran of the armed forces. At the time of his death, he was a steel worker for the Gary US Steel Mill.

“Jae” is survived by his mother, Valerie Hunter; children, Jovanni, Sophia, Zoë, Jaysiah, Jaece, and Axel; brothers, Deverick Spates and Aaron Taylor; paternal grandmother, Edna Olive and maternal grandmother Vickie Hunter; uncle, Kirt (Dana) Olive and Richard (Kelly) Hunter; aunt, Kimberly Olive; niece, Aariana; cousins, Olivia, O’Neal, Kamarie, Lauren, and Alexa; special relative Ali Raheem, significant other Dominique Perez and a host of relatives and friends that loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Olive, Sr., paternal grandfather Cornelius Olive, maternal grandfather Richard Hunter, paternal great-grandmother Mattie Johnson, and maternal great-grandmother Elizabeth Pellom.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Fife Funeral Home in East Chicago, IN at 2:00pm to 7:00pm and service beginning at 5:00pm.
