Margarita Garcia

Margarita Garcia, age 46 of Hammond, IN was born in Guerrero, Mexico and passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020.  She is survived by her husband, Ricardo Garcia; 3 sons: Ricardo Garcia, Jr., Pedro Martin Garcia and Jesus Garcia; 3 daughters: Madeleine B. Garcia, Maria Alexa Garcia and Heather Jade Garcia; 1 great grandson, Israel Alex Williams Garcia; her loving pet, "Sparkle"; many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Victorina Almazan Sabas; father, Martin Bahena Martinez; sister, Elvia Bahena Almazon; niece, Lizeth Zuina Azul Bahena.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Church, 570 Sibley Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2020 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday morning.  (** Due to COVID-19, there will be a limit of 25 people allowed in the funeral home at one time.)

Margarita was a proud member of All Saints Church for 13 years.  She was a devoted member of the Bible study group.  She was a beautiful wife of 28 years, strong and selfless mother, and loving new grandmother. She was devoted to her family, and chose to be a stay at home mother as her career.  Margarita loved and had a passion for gardening, arts and crafts and she was an amazing cook.  Family and friends couldn't resist her delicious food.  She had a big heart for animals.
