Maria J. (Carrillo) Alcantar

Maria J. Alcantar (nee Carrillo), age 69 of Gary, IN passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020.  She is survived by 2 children: Sarah D. (Pablo) Padilla and Miguel B. Alcantar, Jr.; 14 grandchildren: Michael B. Alcantar III, Andrea S. Alcantar, Jessica J. Alcantar, Pablo M. Padilla, Jr., Isabella M. I. Padilla, Matthew P. Padilla, Elena D. Padilla, Bruce Alcantar, Crissy Alcantar, Natasha Alcantar, Oliver Alcantar, Alfonso Alcantar, Quiche Alcantar and Sasha; sister, Dolores Romero; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Delores Carrillo; husband, Miguel B. Alcantar, Sr. (2018); sister, Concepcion Carrillo.                                                                               

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Terry Steffens officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 13, 2020 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Saturday morning.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
