Maria G. (Torres) Guajardo

Maria G. Guajardo, age 62 of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at home.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Oscar P. Guajardo; 2 sons, San Juan Guajardo and Samuel (Laura) Guajardo; 4 granchildren: Luis (Tyra), Hailey-marie, Antonio and Legend; 1 great granddaughter, Malaya; brother, Joe Torres; goddaughter, Diana Vega; nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Alair Torres; sister, Frances Lopez; grandson, Angel Guajardo.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, May 5, 2023. (Note: due to construction on Indianapolis Boulevard, please use Railroad, Tod, or Olcott Avenues to 142nd Street) Private cremation to follow.  Deacon Ray Helfen will hold services at 5:00 pm on Friday.

Maria was an employee of Walgreen’s in Hammond, IN for 22 years.  Maria was a beautiful lady. She loved her family dearly and she always helped out anyone in need.  She was the pillar stone in our family and she will be greatly missed!
