Maria Lopez, age 60 of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026  She is survived by 2 children: Celestino and Flor Torres.; 2 granddaughters, Montserrat and Cassandra.  Preceded in death by her husband, Fortino Torres (2015). 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 10, 2026 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. & 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Church on Friday morning.
