Maria Ester Sanchez, age 97 of Lake Station, IN passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 at home.  She is survived by 10 children: Jaime (Hermila) Sanchez, Margarita (Jose) Montes, Esthela (late Antonio) Camarena, Esperanza (John) Salazar, Ramon (Angelica) Sanchez, Rafael (Martha) Sanchez, Jesus (Patricia) Sanchez, Yolanda (late Armando) Reyes, Sandra (Jose Luis) Mireles, Sergio (Angelica) Sanchez, and Maria Virginia (late Ramiro) Zepeda; 100 + grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Maximiano Sanchez; 6 children: Jose Francisco (Rosario) Sanchez, Maximino (late Mirna) Sanchez,  Gustavo Sanchez, Maria Esther Sanchez and 2 stillborns; 1 sister.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 3, 2026. Rev. Diego Florez will hold services at 5:00 pm on Friday.  Funeral and Burial will be held in Michoacan, Mexico.
