Maribel Chagolla

Maribel Chagolla, age 42 of East Chicago, IN passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023.  She is survived by her parents, Antonio and Maria Chagolla; siblings: Luis Chagolla, Maria (Rodolfo) Becerra, Eduardo (Carolina) Chagolla, Lizette Chagolla, Nancy Velazquez, Elizabeth (Jorge) Guerrero, and Alma (Alberto) Torres; nieces and nephews: Rodolfo, Luis and Estevan Becerra, Yamilet, Mia and Dilan Chagolla, Jaime Velazques, and Fatima and Evan Torres; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Jan Krutewicz officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023 and from 9:00 am to 9:30 am at the funeral home on Saturday morning. (NOTE: Due to construction on Indianapolis Blvd., please use Railroad, Tod or Olcott Avenues to 142nd Street)

Maribel always had a love for working with children and was a paraprofessional for the School City of East Chicago, IN for 14 years. She was a 1999 graduate of East Chicago, Central High School and Maribel earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ivy Tech. Maribel shared a special bond with all of her nieces and nephews and she enjoyed playing Roblox and Jump Scare games with them for hours.  She will always hold a special place in our hearts and will be dearly missed.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
