Mary L. (Lopez) Gutierrez

Maria L. "Mary" Gutierrez, age 94 of Hammond, IN passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at home.  She is survived by 2 children: Christina Collins and Lucia Gutierrez;  grandchildren: Valerie (Eric) Miszewski and Ryan Collins, John Paul Kotso, and Courtney (Kyle) Scherer; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred S. Gutierrez (2019); son, Ralph Gutierrez; granddaughters, Teresa Maria Kotso and Claire Marie Kotso; grandson, Joseph Andrew Kotso.

Private Visitation was held Friday, January 30, 3026 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1445 Hoffman Street, East Chicago, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am with Rev. Luis Ferneidy Iral Cardona officiating.  Burial followed at St. John Cemetery.
