Michael Robert Gomez

Michael Robert Gomez, age 40 of East Chicago, IN passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025.  He is survived by his mother, Margaret Gomez; brother, Armando (Entesar) Gomez; sister/life consultant, Leilani “Lala” (Jesus) Pena; paternal grandmother, Rosemarie Gomez; nieces and nephews: Zachary, late Amera, Amyah, Geovanna, Jesus, Armando, and Leilani; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Preceded in death by his father, Armando “Mandy” Gomez; maternal grandparents, Gilberto and Margarita Gutierrez; paternal grandfather, Jesse Gomez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church, 3810 Grand Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Selvaraj Selladurai officiating.  Private cremation to follow.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 29, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Tuesday morning. (**Please wear your favorite Cubs, Bears or Notre Dame gear).

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Micheal Robert Gomez. Those who were blessed to know Mikey a.k.a. White Jones / White Mike will remember him for his humor, his boundless energy, and the way his laughter could brighten any room. He had a gift for lifting people’s spirits, and he lived each day with joy and purpose.

Mikey was a dreamer and a doer. He never stopped chasing his goals and inspired those around him to believe in themselves. His life was a testament to resilience, hope, and the power of following one’s passions.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit, love, and light will continue to live on in our hearts.

Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.
