Michael Steven Oprisko

Michael S. Oprisko, age 38 of Portage, IN passed away Saturday, July 26, 2026.  He was born June 7, 1988 at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN.  Beloved father to his son, Apollo and daughter, Aya; also survived by his parents, Mark and Cheryl Ann (nee Heck) Oprisko; brother, Alexander "Alex" Oprisko and niece, Emma; sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Oprisko and nephew Theodore; Ex-wife, Katlyn Oprisko.  Michael loved his children Apollo and Aya, family, and late grandmother Ann Oprisko.

Michael graduated from Portage High School in 2007, attended Ball State University, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  Michael relocated to Denver, Colorado where he started a very successful business.  He was the Founder, Owner, and Art Director of Artificial Intelligence, a business that produced specialty hats and clothing.  Michael was years ahead of AI when he opened his business with the title of Alternative Intelligence.

Michael touched the hearts of many people throughout his life.  He will be remembered for his creative mind, eccentric spirit, an ability to find joy in life's adventures while inspiring others to do the same.  Love and Light!

On Saturday, September 5, 2026, a day of remembrance for Michael will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Mark O's Bar & Grill located at 2385 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN.
