Michael Joseph Unger

Michael Joseph Unger, age 58 of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023. He is survived by 3 sons: Marc (Cilla) Vidaurri, Matthew (Prissy) Viduarri and Justin (Elizabeth) Vidaurri; daughter, Kimberly (Colton) Schwartz; 8 grandchildren: Isaiah, Evylena, Ellie, Raine, Zane, Justin Jr., Michael and Leoni.  and sister, Kimberly Unger Rodriguez; 2 brothers, Frederick Unger, Jr. and Zachary (Brittany) Unger; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Frederick Unger; mother, Mary Agnes Unger; son, Michael J. Vidaurri; brother, Martin Harold Unger; long-time companion, Rita Collier.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Rev. Terry Steffens will hold services at 6:15 pm on Saturday.  Private cremation to follow.

Michael was a former employee of Creighton Concrete in Martinsville, IN.  Mike was a great all around guy, a handyman and was a man about town and was willing to help anyone who called.  He loved his family more than anything.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
