It is with deepest sadness that we share the news of Michael John Villagomez passing. Michael was beloved son to the late Amelia Villagomez and late Jose Romero on February 7, 1949. He grew up in boys town and lived a long happy life until his passing on October 25, 2021. Michael shared his love of music and sports with all those who knew him. Michael worked for Union Tank and The City of East Chicago for many years before he retired. He will be dearly missed by the many people that he met throughout his life. Mike was a kind soul, he showed love and compassion for everyone that he’d meet. He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off his back and his last dollar in his pocket to make sure you were okay. He hated to see anyone sad or struggling and always had a funny story to tell to bring joy and laughter into the room. More than anything else, Michael loved his family. He leaves behind his ex-wife and dear friend, Isabel Garcia Villagomez; beloved son, Joshua Villagomez, Daniel Rodriguez and Roseanne Rodriguez; cherished grandson, Joshua Villagomez, Jr.; loving siblings: Aurora (Meme) Vela, late Lenny Romero, late Joseph Romero, Ernie Escobedo, Daniel Alex (Ruthie) Longoria, Fabian (Tamye) Longoria, Enrique Romero and Sal Romero; dearest niece and caretaker, Nadalyn Longoria; many cherished nieces and nephews and so many dear friends who will cherish Michael’s memories for all of their lives.
