Michelle Marie Flores

Michelle Marie Flores, also known as “Taco” was born November 18, 1968 to Ruben and Perla Flores in East Chicago, IN.  She was one of four children born to this union.

Michelle went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023.  Michelle was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and placed her faith in him.

Michelle grew up in West Calumet where she attended Washington Elementary, Block Jr. High and E.C. Central High School.  She graduated from E.C. Central in 1987.  Michelle was always a hard worker and she spent many years at American Steel Foundry.  She moved to Lexington, Kentucky in 2006 where she started her career at Parker-Hannifin O-Ring for 17 years.

Michelle will be remembered by her personality and making everyone laugh no matter where she was, and her beautiful smile.  She liked to spend her free time shopping and getting her feet and nails done.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Flores and Perla Flores; her son, Jordan Henderson; grandparents: Vicente Martinez and Ana Rosa Martinez and grandma, Amalia Villarreal.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons, Jeremy Flores and Justin Henderson; daughter, Jasmine Flores; 3 grandchildren: Kailani Henderson, Kason Downing and Jeremy Flores Jr.; sister, Lisa (Steven) Ramos; 2 brothers, Chris (Sandy) Flores and Ruben Flores; and a host on nieces, nephews and cousins; special uncle, Ruben (Nereida) Martinez; special aunts: Martha Rodriguez, Rosa Oliver, Rosa Mundo and Aurelia Lopez. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Pastor Donald Ramirez officiating. Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Friday morning.  In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
