Miguel A. Ramirez

Miguel A. Ramirez, age 87 of East Chicago, IN passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at home.

He is survived by:  Genoveva (wife);  Sylvia Sierra (sister), Children:  Gregorio (Laura) Cruz, Veronica Russo, Esmeralda Sala, and Marcelina (Robert) Ramirez; Grand-children: Gregory (Katie) Cruz, Jessica Cruz, Julianna (Brian) Bell, Adrianna Cruz, Giuseppe (Madison) Russo, Salvatore (Terry) Russo, Lorenzo F. Russo, Angel (Elaine) Lopez, Arturo (Lisa) Lopez, Gabriela Evans, Dalia (Nito) Jackson, Cristian (Ashley) Lopez, Estevan Ramirez, and Analisa Rosales;  Great Grand-children:  Sofia, Gregorio III, Lilianna, Amilio, Vera, Giuseppe, Giovanni, Cataleya, Elijah, and Olivia.

Miguel was born in Lares, Puerto Rico and retired from Inland Steel Company after 25 years of service.  Miguel (Papi) was always there for his children and grand-children and did everything he could for them.  Papi enjoyed being with his family, drinking a beer with his grandkids and walking around the Harbor (East Chicago). He loved his wife through sickness and in health and vice versa.  He never had an ulterior motive, he just loved his family.  Anyone that ever met Miguel said he was a nice man.  He is remembered by all because he was the hostess with the mostest.  He could not sit still for too long, except to watch cowboy shows and the news. He was strong and fought until the end, he was our Superman.  You will be missed Papi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Thursday morning.  Please Omit Flowers.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
