Ramona R. (Rodriguez) Becerra

Ramona R Becerra, age 88 of East Chicago, IN passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 22,2023. Ramona is survived by her 7 children: Lorenzo (Maria) Becerra, Michael (Nora) Becerra, Teresa Becerra, Rita (Paul) Becerra, Patricia Becerra, Antonio Becerra, and Joseph Becerra; Grandchildren: Julio. Lisa and Michael Jr. Melinda and Melanie. Benito, George, and Makai. Eddie and Jessica. Antonio Jr, Taina, Fabian, and Angel. Gabrielle, Alexis, and Joseph Jr. Many great-grandchildren; brother and sisters. Preceded in death by her parents Rubin and Mary Rodriguez. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 10:00 am at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Terry Steffens officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am on Thursday morning.

Ramona was born and raised in East Chicago, IN. Ramona worked in the steel mill as a secretary as well as a volunteer at St. Catherine hospital. Ramona was a homemaker  most of her life, raising 7 children. Ramona loved to dance, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed cooking for her family. Ramona also loved fashion and jewelry.
