Rene R. Banda

Rene Rogelio Banda, age 67 of Hammond, IN passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at home.  He is survived by his mother, Crescencia R. Banda; 6 brothers:  Raul (Tabitha) Banda Sr., Gerardo (Christina) Banda Sr., Jaime (Lilly) Banda Sr., Edwardo D. (Lidia) Banda Sr., Jaime (Myra) Banda, and Jorge (Veronica) Banda; 6 sisters: Linda D. Banda, Laura D. Banda, Sandra (Ronald) Manzano, Arlene (Arturo) Banda, Gloria (Jose Luis Ortiz) Banda, Brenda (John R. Carrillo Jr.) Banda, and Sonia Banda; also cherished by many nieces and nephews who were very close to him.  Rene was preceded in death by his father, Ruben D. Banda Sr.; brothers: Rolando R. Banda and Ruben D. Banda Jr.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025.

Rene was a carefree and loving son, brother, and uncle.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and found great joy in spending time with his family, especially during cookouts filled with music and laughter.  His presence brought warmth to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew  and loved him.
