Rev. Obed Perez Perez

Rev. Obed Perez Perez, age 80 of East Chicago, IN passed away Friday, October 25, 2024.  Obed was born in Las Maria, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on October 6, 1944 to Armando Perez and Celia Perez.  He is survived by 4 children: Obed (Paula) Perez, Ruth Dieguez, Abigail (Hector) Santos, and Isaiah Perez;  9 grandchildren: Obed A. (Jasmine) Perez, Jeremiah Jeremy Perez, Valerie (Luis) Enriquez, Joshua Dieguez, Michael Rodriguez, Bryan (Anna) Rodriguez, Kimberly White, and Deborah Perez; 9 great grandchildren: Juelz, Violet, Leiah, Micah, Kylah, Jaelle, Elias, Moses and Noah and one on the way; siblings: Lola Acevedo, late Armando Perez Jr., Noemi Perez, and Elides Hernandez;  former daughter in-law, Lourdes Perez.  Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Ruth E. Perez in 2023; grandson, Isaiah Junito Perez.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 1, 2024 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2024.  Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.  Pastor Edward Schwartz will hold services at 6:00 pm on Friday.

Rev. Obed Perez was a faithful man of God with over 60 years of Pastoral Ministry, starting in Mayaguez, PR in the 1970’s.  He had the blessing and honor to be a Pastor in many cities and states.  Obed’s passion for the word of God and leading souls to Christ allowed him to travel to many countries preaching and being part of many revivals in different churches, all for the Glory of God (Places like Holland, Honduras, Columbia, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and many more, just to name a few.  Thousands of people all over the world had the opportunity to hear Pastor Obed Perez preaching, even through socia media, and because of his faithfulness and obedience to God’s call upon his life, their lives were transformed.  Rev.
