Ricardo "Richie" Carrizales

Ricardo "Richie" Carrizales, 52, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away on January 26, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family. Born on January 24, 1974, also in East Chicago, Richie spent his life rooted in the community that shaped him.

Richie held a Class A CDL license and worked as a truck driver for various companies throughout the years. His career on the road reflected his independent spirit and strong work ethic. Whether hauling freight across state lines or navigating local routes, Richie took pride in his work and the freedom it gave him.

He was known for his vibrant personality and infectious sense of humor. Richie had a gift for making people laugh and lighting up any room he entered. His love for life was evident in the way he connected with others—always quick with a joke or a smile that left a long lasting impression.

Richie’s greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends and watching sports. He was an avid fan of both the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, rarely missing a game and always cheering passionately for his teams. Game days were special to him—an opportunity to share excitement, camaraderie, and plenty of laughs.

He is lovingly remembered by his children: daughter Marissa Carrizales-Ledesma (Cecilia), sons Ricardo Carrizales Jr. and Alexandro Carrizales; as well as by his mother Graciela Gracin. Richie was preceded in death by his father, grandmother, and step father.
