Roberta L. Bach

Roberta L. Bach, age 65 of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023.  She is survived by 3 sisters: Deborah (Thomas) Williamson, Suzan Bach and Sister Connie Bach, PHJC; nieces:, Kristin (Ka’Vonne Smith) Bach and Ashley (La’Ray) Williams; great nephew, Malachi Williams; 2 godsons, Ryan and Brandon Wadas; goddaughter, Tammy Mendonca.  Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Martha Bach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. James the Less Church, 9640 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, IN with Rev. Gregory Bim-Merle officiating.  Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 and from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at the Church on Tuesday morning.  (Due to construction on Indianapolis Boulevard, please use Railroad, Tod, or Olcott Avenues to 142nd Street) There will be a simple service at 6:00 pm on Monday evening.

Roberta was a graduate of E.C. Roosevelt High School and Purdue University where she was a member of Alpha Phi Omega.  She was a Registered Nurse at St. Catherine Hospital for 40 years. She was also the Chairperson for the National Cancer Survivor’s Day and for Relay for Life Teams for many years.  In 1999 she was the recipient of the St. Catherine Kasper Award for her compassionate service in work with cancer patients.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
