Roberta L. Bach, age 65 of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She is survived by 3 sisters: Deborah (Thomas) Williamson, Suzan Bach and Sister Connie Bach, PHJC; nieces:, Kristin (Ka’Vonne Smith) Bach and Ashley (La’Ray) Williams; great nephew, Malachi Williams; 2 godsons, Ryan and Brandon Wadas; goddaughter, Tammy Mendonca. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Martha Bach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. James the Less Church, 9640 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, IN with Rev. Gregory Bim-Merle officiating. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023 and from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at the Church on Tuesday morning. (Due to construction on Indianapolis Boulevard, please use Railroad, Tod, or Olcott Avenues to 142nd Street) There will be a simple service at 6:00 pm on Monday evening.
Roberta was a graduate of E.C. Roosevelt High School and Purdue University where she was a member of Alpha Phi Omega. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Catherine Hospital for 40 years. She was also the Chairperson for the National Cancer Survivor’s Day and for Relay for Life Teams for many years.
