Rolando Quintanilla

Rolando Quintanilla, age 57, formerly of East Chicago, IN  passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021.  Rolando is survived by son, Juan Rolando Quintanilla; daughter, Emma Marie Quintanilla; mother, Antonia Quintanilla; girlfriend, Nora Ortiz; three brothers:  Rodolfo (Mary) Quintanilla, Rene (Laya) Quintanilla, and Raul (Linda) Quintanilla; nieces and nephews:  Melissa, Veronica, Stephanie, Jessica, Raul, Jr., Joshua and Leah; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special cousin, Patty Serna.  Preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo “Rudy” Quintanilla; grandparents:  Juan Quintanilla, Maria Quintanilla, Max Sanchez and Juanita Sanchez; and dear cousin, Sylvia Sanchez.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 beginning at 9:15 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN, with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar St., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Ivan Carrillo  officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation will be on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, and on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:15 am at the funeral home.

Rolando was a 1984 graduate of Washington High School in East Chicago; former employee of Smith Redimix and a member of Teamster’s Union Local #142; he loved to travel and work on cars with his son and adored his daughter ; he had a big heart and a great sense of humor which will be dearly missed and he was loved by many – always willing to help others; an avid White Sox and Bears fan.  Please omit flowers, memorial donations in Rolando’s memory may be made to the family.
