Rosa (Guevara) Gonzalez

Rosa Gonzalez, age 91 of East Chicago, IN formerly of Gary, IN passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025.  She is survived by 2 sons: Luis Manuel (Kay) Gonzalez and Oscar (Sheila) Gonzalez; 4 daughters: Mary Isabel (Edward) Reyes, Hilda (Fernando) Reyes, Andrea Sylvia (Jesus) Gutierrez and Norma (Paul Hughes) Stojakovich; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; siblings: late Lorenzo, late Josefina, Jose, Juanita, and Samuel; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Gonzalez (2015).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3510 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Diego Florez officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 24, 2025 and from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at the Church on Saturday morning.

Rosa was a devout Catholic.  She enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
