Rose Mary Palacios, age 59, of Portage, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024. Rose is survived by three children: Vanessa (Tomas) Canchola, Sylvia (Raul) Ayala, and Cecilia Rivera; six grandchildren: Christian, Melanie, Isaac, Alejandra, Johnathan, and Dominic; sister, Joann (Roel) Cantu; three brothers: Juan Cardenas, Luis Palacios, and Robert Palacios; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt. Preceded in death by her parents: Simon and Dolores Palacios; and brother, Juan Simon Palacios.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 11:00 am at St. Mary Church, Indianapolis Boulevard at 144th Street, East Chicago, Indiana, with Rev. Jan Krutkewicz officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana
As a devoted mother, Rose nurtured her children with boundless love, wisdom, and care. Her role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, and she always had a special way of making each grandchild feel uniquely loved and cherished. As a sister and aunt, she was a pillar of strength and support, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand.
Rose was also a treasured friend to many, known for her warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering loyalty. She touched countless lives with her generosity and compassion, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered forever.
