Ruby Avila, age 33 of Hammond, IN passed away August 23, 2026. Ruby is survived by her parents: Maria & Margarito Rodriguez; 2 Grandparents: Ernestina Rodriguez and Bernabe Avila; 3 Siblings: Antonio (Katherine) Salgado, Hector (Samyrah) Avila, and Maritza (Aaron) Hernandez; Uncles & Aunts: Jose (Charlie) Avila, Saul (Gina) Avila, Rodolfo (Elena) Avila, Gustavo Avila, Enriqueta (Jesus) Hernandez, Imelda (Alvarado) Ruiz, Rosy Sotuyo, and Eduardo (Angelica) Hernandez; 3 nieces: Korra Salgado, Kalani Aguilar, and Yahritza Hernandez;3 Nephews: Alejandro Salgado, Elijah Rodriguez, and Logan Dawson, and one on the way; including numerous cousins and many other family members in Mexico.

Visitation will be held at Ministerio Torres Fuerte, 3801 Deodar Street, East Chicago, IN on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with Pastor Ezequiel and Suri Becerra officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
