Ruth E. (Irrizary Santiago) Perez

Ruth E. Perez, age 77 of East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023.  Ruth E. Perez “Tita” was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on February 25, 1945 to Thomas Irizarry and Bienvenida Santiago (Bien).  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Obed Perez; 4 children: Obed (Paula) Perez, Ruth Dieguez, Abigail (Hector) Santos, and Isahia Perez (Lourdes Perez; 9 grandchildren: Obed A. (Jasmine) Perez, Jeremiah Jeremy Perez, Valerie (Luis) Enriquez, Joshua Dieguez, Michael Rodriguez, Bryan (Anna) Rodriguez, Kimberly (Brian) White, and Deborah Perez; 7 great grandchildren: Juelz, Violet, Leiah, Micah, Jaelle, Elias, and Moses; 4 brothers and 3 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Irizarry and Bienvenida Santiago; grandson, Isahia Junito Perez; brother, Thomas Irizarry, Jr.

Visitation will be held at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023 and from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN.  Pastor Edward Schwartz will hold services at 6:00 pm on Friday.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother in-law, sister and daughter.  Ruth was a faithful woman of God devoted to Church and family.  She loved everyone and had a smile that would light up every room.  Ruth will be truly missed by everyone, but she is rejoicing in the arms of the Father, as he says welcome home my good and faithful servant.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
