Sergio "Chencho" Cardona

Sergio “Chencho” Cardona, age 75 of East Chicago, IN passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 at home.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ana Rosa “Honey” Cardona; 3 children: Sergio, Jr. (Claudia) Cardona, Daniel C. (Evelia Magaña) Cardona, and Maribel (Efren Gonzalez) Cardona; 7 grandchildren: Sergio, Alejandra, Maria F., Daniel, Luis E., Victoria “Vicky”, and Efren “Guero”; great grandchild, Angel; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Aurora Cardona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 9:00 am at St. Mary Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Julio Bedoya officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2027 and from 8:30 am to 9:00 am at the Church on Saturday morning.
