Sylvia spent her life working in the service and labor industries, never afraid of hard work; her giving nature even led her to provide help down in New Orleans, LA in 2005 during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She always dreamed of returning to see the beautiful city she provided relief and recovery to.

Sylvia was a beautiful, caring, and generous woman who had the biggest heart. Regardless of how much or how little she had, she would offer everything she could to help someone when they needed it. Wherever Sylvia went, she was the life of the party and the biggest joker, making those around her laugh until they cried. Her contagious laugh and quick one-liners could instantly light up a room. Anyone that crossed paths with her would surely never forget her. Sylvia loved to decorate for the holidays, listen to her oldies, and never turned down a good time spent with her friends and family.

Sylvia was the matriarch, affectionately known as "Mama G", to what flourished to be a strong and resilient family built on the characteristics she modeled...and as she would often remind us, who wouldn't be here without her. She loved her family more than anything; her memory and legacy will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We'll never forget the way she made us smile and the way she selflessly surrounded us with her love. She truly was an angel with a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed, and forever loved.  To send an online condolence, please logon to: www.fifefuneralhome.com
