William M. “Billy” Rolland
November 25, 1982 – April 23, 2026
William M. “Billy” Rolland, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43. Born on November 25, 1982, in East Chicago, Indiana, Billy was the beloved son of Peggy (Irving) Rolland, who preceded him in death, and William “Bill” J. Rolland. Billy was a devoted husband to his wife, Ashleigh (Jett) Rolland, and a proud, loving father to his children: Aaliyah, Hailey, Zoey, Philip, and Willow. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them—especially outdoors, where some of their best memories were made.He is also survived by his brother, Jason (Skilar) Rolland; his cherished niece, Autumn; his aunt, Kay Sarti; his uncle, David Rolland; and many cousins and extended family members who will deeply miss him.
Billy had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in golfing, fishing, and camping—especially when shared with his children. In his younger years, he was an accomplished high school swimmer, a reflection of his dedication and drive. More than anything, Billy was his children’s biggest supporter and encourager. He took great pride in nurturing their interests, supporting their involvement in theatre arts, robotics, and science, encouraging their academic pursuits through school, and teaching them everything he knew. He never missed a performance, demonstration, or event, always showing up with unwavering love and pride. Known for his easygoing nature and kind heart, Billy formed lasting friendships wherever he went. He had a genuine passion for helping others and was always willing to lend a hand in his community. Whether as a supportive friend, a devoted family man, or someone who simply showed up when it mattered most, Billy left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the love he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
“What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” — Helen Keller
