Eva Coleman Cook, age 57 of Hammond, IN passed away Monday, November 11, 2019. She is survived by 3 children: Ronald Eugene (Paris Lark) Cook, Jr., Savanna (Michael Wilson) Cook and Robert McGruder; 4 grandchildren: Darius, Ronald Eugene Cook III, Reina, and Kelly; husband, Ronald Eugene Cook, Sr.; longtime companion, Steven McGruder; 10 siblings: late Ann Collins, late Minister George Suggs, Jeannie (Richard) Moore, Emma (LZ) Taylor, Ella (George) Randolph, Joe (Barbara) Diggs, Josephine (George) Davis, Ethel (Oliver) King, Bettie Coleman and Morris (Ann) Coleman; best friends, Emma Johnson, Thelma Tate, Arthur Gildart and Diane Turner; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Coleman and Annie President.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Pastor Jeff Jones officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME will be from 9:00 am until time of service Wednesday morning.
Eva was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1962 and joined church at an early age; she had many journeys throughout life as she searched for the Lord. Eva had a beautiful voice, sang in the choir and loved singing her solos. She attended Harlan High School. Eva was a fun loving person, full of joy, who was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
