Concepcion D. (Duran) Perez

Concepción Perez Duran, age 83 of Hammond, IN passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at home.  She is survived by her husband, Enrique Perez; her 7 children: Enrique, Leticia Probst (Joseph), Ernesto (Dilia), Sylvia Magallanez (Mark), Mirabel Villarreal (Armando), Victor (Jennie), and Daniel (Rosalinda); grandchildren: Jessie Rousseve (Errol), Nico Probst (Lelia), Sam Probst (Colby),  Alex Probst, Rachel, Benjamin, Elias, Max, Mia, Matthew, Mark Magallanez, Gabriel Magallanez, Anthony Villarreal, Dominic Villarreal, Diego, and Eliana; great grandchildren: Ava Rousseve, Wyatt Rousseve, Matilda Rousseve, and Charlotte Rousseve; brother: Olegario; and sisters: Magdalena and Maria Gomez. Preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Duran and Guadalupe Duran; and brother Candelario.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 1, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Casimir Church, 4340 Johnson Street, Hammond, IN with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John/St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the Church will be on Monday morning at 10:30 am.

Concepción was born in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico. She moved to this country with her family shortly before meeting her future husband, Enrique Perez, whom she married in 1958. Concepción raised a family of seven instilling in each of her children a strong work ethic, a hunger for learning, and loyalty to family. She set an example for her family with her kindness to others and by her strength. Concepción loved her children and adored her grandchildren.
