Deborah Williamson Obituary

Deborah Lynn Williamson (Bach/Martin), age 65 of Schererville, IN passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Williamson and two sisters, Suzie Bach and Sister Connie Bach, Poor Handmaid of Jesus Christ; nieces Kristin Bach (Ka ‘Vonne Smith) and Ashley (La ‘Ray Williams); great nephew Malachi Williams; step-sons Tommy (Theresa) Williamson and Brandon Williamson;  and step-grandchildren:  Savannah (Crider), and Tommy, Emma and Justin Williamson. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Martha Bach, first husband, (Claude Martin), older sister, Roberta Bach, and nephew, Danny Crane.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Church of the Nazarene, 9330 Kennedy Avenue, Highland, IN with Pastor Ron Richmond officiating.  Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church on Monday morning.

Debbie was a graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School and was a member of Highland First Church of the Nazarene where she sang in the choir, worked the coffee shop, worked in the nursery and taught early childhood Sunday School. She participated in providing food for church funerals and filled in for the secretary as needed. She enjoyed meeting with a small church group for Bible study, and liked to go out to eat with friends! Debbie also  worked as a cook and waitress at Brothers Restaurant in East Chicago for many years before working as custodian at Indiana Harbor Catholic. In addition, she provided childcare for families over the years.

Debbie was a family person and especially loved her nieces, Kristin and Ashley, in whom she took great pride! .She loved holidays and game nights with family and  traveling whenever she could.

Debbie was very creative and was involved in making jewelry, paint by numbers, and diamond art. She was a great Cubs fan.

Debbie had a hearty laugh and loved life! She leaves a hole in many hearts and will be sorely missed, but never forgotten!
