Diosdado “Dioso” Cotto, age 85 of East Chicago, IN passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 at home. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nery Cotto; 3 children: Maria Rivera, Ruth Evelyn (Ramiro) Monroig and Orlando Cotto; 5 grandchildren: Yvette (Peter) Hernandez, Melvin (Andrea) Monroig, Enrique (Gabriella) Herrera, Jr., Alexis (Edgar) Irizarry and Nicholas (Karen) Herrera; 11 great grandchildren: Hector, Jeremiah, Xavier, Noah, Cristian, Enrique III, Julian, Xiomara, Edgar, Jr., Arianna and Alejandro; 1 great great granddaughter, Laylani; sister, Abigail Cotto Sanchez; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter, Iris Yolanda Herrera;

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Church, 3802 Grand Blvd., East Chicago, IN with Rev. Ivan Carrillo officiating. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 28, 2021 and from 8:30 am to 9:30 am Tuesday morning.
