Fernando A. Soto, “Little Nando”, age 18 of East Chicago, IN was taken from his family too soon on Sunday, April 23, 2023.  He is survived by his mother, Theresa Soto; paternal grandmother, Maria Olga Soto; 3 brothers: Luis Gonzalez, D’Angelo Soto and Sergio Soto; sister, Carolina Gonzalez; aunts and uncles: Hernan (late Jean) Soto, Jesse (Gail) Garnello, Veronica (Victor) Sanchez, Rosemary Garnello, Annie Soto, Yara (Jose) Nunez, Roberta (Jeremy) Wickman and Raymond (Jessica) Roberts; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his girlfriend who he loved dearly, Karissa Russell.  Preceded in death by his father, Fernando Soto; paternal grandfather, Arcadio S. Soto; aunt, Josephine Garnello; cousins: Miranda Garnello, Jose Garnello, Richard Camacho, Michael Soto and Daniel Wickman.

Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023. (Note: due to construction on Indianapolis Boulevard, please use Railroad, Tod, or Olcott Avenues to 142nd Street) Private cremation to follow.

“Little Nando” was born on January 21, 2005 to Fernando and Theresa Soto of East Chicago, IN.  “Little Nando” was excited to be graduating from East Chicago Central High in June of 2023.  He was also happily employed at The Wheel Restaurant in Hammond, IN and he looked forward to a bright future of being a paramedic.  “Little Nando” had a happy, energetic personality and made everyone around him smile.  He enjoyed playing football for his school.  He was an avid gamer, a good friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.  To share an online condolence, logon to www.fifefuneralhome.com
