Javier "Campa" Olvera

Javier “Campa” Olvera, age 49, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024.  Javier is survived by his wife, Eleuteria Munoz; 2 sons:  Adolfo Olvera and Leonel Olvera; parents:  J. Isabel Olvera and M. Dolores Aguilar; mother-in-law, Consuelo Jimenez; 7 brothers and 1 sister. Preceded in death by his father-in-law, Gregorio Munoz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 6, 2024, 10:30 am at St. Mary Church, Indianapolis Boulevard at 144th Street, East Chicago, Indiana with Rev. Julio Bedoya and Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.

Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at St. Mary Church Hall, 812 W. 144th Street, East Chicago, Indiana.

Javier was a hard worker who loved to spend time with his family; always doing something fun with them.  He was a forklift driver for over 18 years at Pacmoore Products in Hammond.  Javier was an avid sports fan, especially baseball and soccer; his favorite teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers, Liverpool FC and Club America.  He enjoyed listening to Mexican music and bicycling.  He will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.
