Luz Gonzalez

Luz Gonzalez, age 95 of East Chicago, IN passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.  Mother of 3 children: Cutberto (Kimberly) Olivares, late Magdalena Olivares and Martha (Xavier) Herrera; grandchildren: Xavier III and Christopher Herrera, Corey Olivares, Nicole (Bobby), Alex Barron, Yessica Barron and late Jaime Barron; 1 great granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her husband, Cutberto Olivares.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 5310 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, IN with Rev. Theodore J. Mens officiating.  Interment at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Luz was a retired seamstress for Albert Givens Clothing Store in East Chicago, IN for 30 years and she was a member of the Rosary Group at St. Joseph Church, Hammond, IN.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Padre Scott Donahue Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W.
