Ruby was a kindergarten student at Lighthouse Academy in East Chicago; she loved to draw, music, sing, play with her lego’s, board games, puzzles, bike riding, playing in the park, and snow; her favorite colors were purple and pink; she loved her stuffed animals and enjoyed playing with her brother and sister. Ruby’s favorite food was her donuts, she also liked pancakes, sunny-side eggs with white rice, strawberries, and apple juice.
Ruby was very outspoken, no was no and yes was yes; she also had her shy moment with her little contagious smile – thumbs up or thumbs down; She was fearless, never afraid to try new things; also pretty independent, smart, and creative.
Her journey this past year was not easy but she had a very positive attitude, living life as normal as possible, even with enduring all the chemo and radiation treatments – she was a real trooper! As parents, we can only hope to be as strong as she was as we go through life. One day, Ruby’s parents would like to establish a foundation for her cause.
