Rudy retired from Arcelor Mittal Steel Company. Rudy attended St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in East Chicago, then graduated from East Chicago Washington High School in 1968. He then joined the United States Armed Forces serving in the Army with an Honorable Discharge and was a member of the American Legion. He then returned home and worked at Inland (Mittal) Steel in East Chicago. He attended Prairie State College and earned an apprenticeship as a skilled mechanic for Inland Steel. A proud American and true Patriot, he believed in standing for the flag and kneeling for the cross. Rudy was known for his comical sense of humor and self-made jokes. He was a fighter and loved his family, friends, and sports. Rudy never married or had children, but had so much love from his siblings, nieces and nephews. He was so much fun to be around; full of knowledge and loved sharing it especially with the children.
