Esperanza Valdez, age 92 of East Chicago, IN passed away Friday, October 28, 2016.  She is survived by 5 children: Elisa Duarte,  Roberto (Sandra) Valdes, Lydia Valdes, Celina (Saturnino) Vasquez and Jorge Valdez; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by husband, Salvador in 2006.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church, corner of Indianapolis Blvd. and 144th Street, East Chicago, IN with Rev. Nestor Varon officiating.  Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Visitation at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 and from 9:30 am until time of Mass at the Church on Thursday morning.
